Enduring companies are built on compounding technical advantage. As an engineer-turned-investor, I love to go deep on the underlying technology, pressure-testing systems design, defensibility, and architectural tradeoffs. Helping founders bridge the gap from technical insight to product, business, and real-world impact is my North Star.
Kevin Tu joined DFJ Growth in 2017 and has been actively involved with the firm's investments in Aera Technology, Anduril, Armis (ServiceNow), Cohesity, DataRobot, Goodfire, Immuta, Innovium (Marvell), Modular, Positron, Salt Security, Scale AI, Sysdig, and Vannevar Labs. His areas of focus include AI infrastructure, enterprise applications, developer tools, security, and frontier technologies.
He also served as the interim head of FP&A at Cohesity, joining after DFJ Growth's investment to help lead finance and strategy.
Prior to joining the firm, Kevin held roles at J.P. Morgan in its M&A and technology investment banking practices and at Summit Partners as a growth investor. Kevin trained as a software engineer and built products for Amazon, Pebble smartwatches, and a number of other early-stage startups.
His unique combination of technical and engineering know-how, alongside finance, operations, and scaling expertise, serves as a valuable resource to DFJ Growth entrepreneurs and portfolio companies.
Kevin graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a major in computer science. While at MIT, he was president of the Sloan Business Club and worked with the Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship to develop and direct a program for student founders. Kevin also participated in hackathons, played varsity volleyball, and sang in a cappella group at MIT.
